TM.30 is an address notification, usually filed by the owner, landlord, or hotel — not a visa. Hotels often file it at check-in. Private landlords are inconsistent; some have never heard of it until you ask for an extension. Some immigration offices still ask to see a TM.30 receipt when you extend. If you cannot produce one, the office may require the landlord to file before they will process your extension. Online filing exists for some addresses but not all provinces accept it — confirm with your local office.

   Condo juristic offices, landlords, or you (with a power of attorney) may be the filer. Get a copy of the receipt.

   Keep the receipt with your passport copies

   Offices that still check TM.30 want the printout, not a verbal assurance.
