November is when Thailand's festival calendar picks up again. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) published its November 2026 event calendar on 29 October. It lists marathons, music and jazz festivals, a four-month horticultural expo in Udon Thani, temple festivals in Isan and two nights of international fireworks in Pattaya. Loy Krathong falls on Tuesday 24 November. This guide lists the main dates, what we could confirm about tickets and logistics, and what to book early.
Last reviewed: 29 October 2026. Checked against TAT's November calendar, Thai PBS, the Government Public Relations Department's thailand.go.th, Pattaya Mail and the Udon Thani expo's ticketing announcement.
No public holidays, but one big festival night
According to Thai PBS, November 2026 has no official public holidays. Government offices, banks and immigration offices should keep normal working days, which is useful if you have a 90-day report or an extension due. Loy Krathong is not a public holiday either, even though it is one of the country's best-loved festivals. It falls on the full moon of the 12th lunar month, which this year is Tuesday 24 November 2026.
Loy Krathong 2026: where and when
- Bangkok, 23–24 November: Thai PBS reports that the Ministry of Culture plans the capital's main Loy Krathong activities at Wat Arun and on Songwat Road. The ministry encourages krathongs made from natural materials and suggests families share one krathong to cut waste in the rivers and canals.
- Sukhothai, 15–24 November: the "Loy Krathong, Burning Candles, and Playing with Fire Festival" takes place at Sukhothai Historical Park. According to thailand.go.th, run by the Government Public Relations Department, the evening show starts at 19:00 each night, with an extra show at 20:30 on 24 November. Tickets are 500, 900 or 1,200 baht, and seats are limited.
Expect crowds, traffic and full hotels around riverside and historic sites on the main nights. Book rooms and transport early.

Udon Thani International Horticultural Expo: tickets
The largest event on the list runs for 134 days from 1 November 2026 to 14 March 2027 at Nong Dae Wetland, Mueang Udon Thani. It is accredited by the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) and uses the theme "Diversity of Life: Connecting People, Water and Plants for Sustainable Living". According to the organisers' ticketing announcement:
- General ticket (Thais and foreigners): 199 baht, with a maximum of 14 tickets per purchase. It is sold at allticket.com, All Ticket counters in 7-Eleven stores nationwide and the ticket office at the venue.
- Free one-day entry is available for children aged 15 and under, people over 60, disabled people, and monks, nuns and novices with valid ID or certification.
- Visitors are asked to register online in advance for security and evaluation purposes.
- Special rates for Udon Thani residents and for people from Loei, Nong Khai, Nong Bua Lamphu and Bueng Kan require an ID card showing that province as home, so most foreign visitors will buy the general ticket.
Pattaya International Fireworks Festival, 27–28 November
According to Pattaya Mail, the festival runs on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 November from 17:00 to midnight, with concerts and food stalls along the beachfront. The first fireworks display is at 20:00, and Pattaya Beach Road closes to traffic from 15:00. Hotels near the beach and rooftop tables fill up early. If you are driving, allow extra time, park further from the beach and walk in, and follow Pattaya City announcements for parking and viewing areas. Pattaya also hosts the International Jazz Festival on 6–7 November.
Also running in Bangkok
The Bangkok Art Biennale 2026 opened on 29 October and runs until 28 February 2027 at 11 venues, including Wat Pho, Wat Arun and the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (TAT). We have a separate visitor guide covering venues, fees and opening hours.
Planning checklist
- Book Loy Krathong and Pattaya fireworks stays now. Pattaya Mail expects heavy demand around 27–28 November, and Sukhothai show seats are limited.
- Use official ticket channels. For the Udon Thani expo, these are allticket.com, 7-Eleven All Ticket counters and the venue box office.
- Plan admin around a normal working month. With no public holidays, immigration offices keep normal hours, but queues can be long in high season. Don't leave a 90-day report or extension to the last day.
- Check your permitted stay if you are visiting. Since 15 September 2026, the 30-day visa exemption applies to nationals of 60 countries and territories (TAT). If a festival trip pushes you past your stamp date, extend in time.
- Complete the TDAC. All foreign arrivals must submit the Thailand Digital Arrival Card within three days before arrival at tdac.immigration.go.th.
- Allow time at the airport. November is the start of the busy season. If you are arriving with family or making a tight connection, an airport fast-track service can shorten the walk through arrival formalities. It is optional, not a requirement.
- Be environmentally careful at Loy Krathong. The Ministry of Culture recommends krathongs made from natural materials and sharing one krathong per family.
